Becci Bellairs is a talented and highly professional senior manager, who I have had the pleasure of working with for several years. I have worked with Becci both at Higher Hopes and within my own company, Genesis CTE Ltd.
At Higher Hopes, where Becci is the Responsible Individual and Service Manager, she has proved to be an inspirational leader with a terrific eye for detail, organisation and professionalism. She is extremely well versed in the requirements of Ofsted registered services and has largely been responsible for Grange House (Residential childcare home) and Higher Hopes (The Company) going from strength to strength. Becci has proved excellent at leading a team towards delivering excellent child centred therapeutic care and has developed several key staff members within the service. She is also a great communicator who is very talented in working directly with children and young people. Becci has proved highly effective in commissioning new services and winning the faith and trust of related external agencies.
Within Genesis CTE Ltd Becci was extremely supportive in her consultancy role. She brought many ideas and observations that have helped me focus on the development of my services. My homes are in a transformative stage, and Becci has provided her expert input and insights that will help shape the service going forward. Becci was able to assist one of my CQC registered managers in readying themselves for Ofsted registration. She proved very capable in winning the trust and faith of key members of my management team.
In a consultative role I am sure Becci would prove invaluable in assisting services to develop and grow or to turnaround performance if required. I’d have no hesitation in recommending her services.

Becci was appointed by Action for Children after an extensive interview process lasting over two days.
She was the unanimous choice of every panel because her warmth and work ethic shone through at every stage. In the first interview I was struck by her candour and honesty and knew that if we appointed her she would be a perfect complement to the leadership team where these values were so vital.
On appointment what we had hoped we would see from the interview process was exceeded by her dedication to her work. We had a number of staffing shortages that she inherited and immediately set about solving the problems by innovative solutions on a number of fronts and working herself in the home and leading by example.
The staff team were rapidly won over and fully supportive of her despite her having worked out within a week that they were all claiming over their allotted hours in error. This made a large saving for the charity, increased staff availability and produced greater flexibility with the rota – hardly a popular decision with staff but it was carried out compassionately and was fully supported and implemented within days of appointment – I highlight this as an example of the positive impact she made.
Becci's work ethic is inspirational to others and there are numerous examples I could draw upon to illustrate this but perhaps the most telling was when she had the only day off that she has ever asked for a serious medical procedure involving a stay in hospital; she came in the next day, of her own volition, clearly in pain but not wanting to miss a meeting and introduce herself to the Governors. Her work ethic as a leader is exemplary to others and inspires dedication in her team.
Becci played a key role as part of the leadership team of the school and helped formulate the school development plan. She had a vision of what we wanted to achieve in terms of residential care and was ambitious but realistic in her expansion plans. As a leader she is creative and entrepreneurial and when faced with problems finds innovative solutions. She is aware of costs and budgetary control and
successfully managed her budget in excess of three quarters of a million pounds. She proved to be real team player both with the leadership team, the residential staff and the wider team involved in running a school and residential home. Her management style was very supportive but it was clear that she had high expectations. Staff were held to account when procedures were not followed in a professional and supportive manner.
Supervisions have been held regularly with her team so that performance management is always on the agenda Becci was very personable and was able to sell the service that we provided well to parents and prospective students.
In meetings and professional situations she is warm and engaging. Her punctuality and attendance have been exemplary. In reading this I would assume that you are considering
employing Becci and I would say without shadow of doubt that you would not regret taking that action.
If I was able to employ her again in another setting I would not hesitate.

Becci's role as the Vice Principal of Care has the purpose of providing leadership and management of the children's Home and supporting the teaching and learning within the school.
Becci is exceptionally skilled in communication and producing action plans and written procedures, she has promoted high expectations of service for the children's Home and has united a previously fractured team.
Her strengths have emerged in monitoring performance via in depth supervisions and identifying training needs to strengthen her team to deliver her high expectations. Becci has introduced detailed and accurate monitoring systems to ensure all young people have achievable and relevant goals and outcomes.
To ensure transparency and support of commissioners and social workers Becci has been quick to establish partnerships with local authorities and families of young people.
Becci successfully manages her budget and resources and has demonstrated effective marketing skills to secure business income.
Becci is child centred having the care, wellbeing and future of all children at the forefront of her thinking.
She is future thinking and is committed to continuous improvement of the service she leads.
Becci's attendance and commitment to the service is outstanding and she provides reliable management as well as effective leadership. Respected by others and respectful to professionals she works with or encounters gives Becci a character that any team would benefit from.
